Pre-Shipment Inspection

The Pre-Shipment Inspection checks your finished goods at the factory before they load, and reports with photographs and a clear call.

The goods are made. The balance payment is due, and once it is paid and the container leaves, your leverage is gone. You are being asked to trust photographs taken by the people who want the money.

A $300 inspection runs a generic checklist. We check against your spec and give an honest accept, rework or reject call. We draw a random sample from the packed goods, check quantity, workmanship, function, labelling and packing against what you actually ordered, photograph everything we find, and report while you can still hold the shipment.

Price: $1,500 — fixed price. Turnaround: 7–10 working days.

The verdict you get: Closes with a clear GEB verdict — accept, rework or reject — plus the defect that would cause you the most trouble on arrival. Not a data dump; a decision.

What you receive

  • 1 shipment inspected at the factory before it loads
  • A random sample drawn to AQL 2.5 under ISO 2859-1 — around 200 units on a 10,000-piece order
  • 50 or more photographs, including every defect found
  • Quantity, workmanship, function, labelling and packing checked against your spec
  • An accept, rework or reject call inside 7–10 working days

Best for

  • A first full order from a new supplier
  • Any shipment where the balance is due before loading
  • Goods going straight to a retailer who will reject the lot

Not for: Available in China and South America only, where GEB has its own people on the ground. If your supplier is elsewhere, use the remote options on this page — the Photo and Video Review or the Sample Check. This is an independent reviewer's opinion, not an accredited certification audit and not lab testing, and it is no guarantee that the goods will pass a buyer's or a regulator's inspection or clear customs.

Natural next step: Factory Quality Review.

Frequently asked questions

How much notice do you need?

Book once production is roughly 80 per cent complete. We need access agreed with the factory and your spec in writing, which the checkout questionnaire collects.

How fast is it?

Seven to ten working days.

What if the call is reject?

You get the photographs and the defect list to put to your supplier, and a re-inspection after rework is quoted separately.
