Freight Setup
Freight Setup settles the forwarder, route and cost for 1 shipment on 1 route and guides the booking across 3 working sessions, in seven to ten working days.
You have picked a forwarder. Now there is a booking form, a cargo ready date, a draft bill of lading, and a supplier asking questions you cannot answer yet.
The usual alternative is to learn on the shipment itself, guided by the forwarder onboarding email. That email tells you what the forwarder needs from you. It does not tell you what you should be asking them, which charges are still open, or what one wrong detail on a bill of lading costs to fix after the vessel has sailed. We sit on your side of that conversation for one full shipment.
Price: $1,200 — fixed price. Turnaround: 7–10 working days.
The verdict you get: Closes with a clear GEB verdict — go, or fix these two things before the cargo ready date — plus the risk most likely to delay this shipment. Not a data dump; a decision.
What you receive
- Forwarder, route, service and cost settled for 1 shipment, confirmed in writing
- 3 guided working sessions across the booking
- Booking documents checked before they go: commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading instructions
- A dated timeline from cargo ready to arrival, with who does what
- Written answers at each stage, so nothing important sits in a phone call
Best for
- A first shipment, where the process is the hard part
- Importers who have a forwarder but not the confidence
- A route or cargo type you have never shipped before
Not for: Freight only. Classification, duty calculation and clearance documents are not included, and GEB is not a forwarder or a broker — we do not move goods, file entries or control sailing dates. If this shipment also needs customs work, take Freight and Customs Setup.
Natural next step: Freight and Customs Setup.
Frequently asked questions
What happens in the 3 sessions?
One to settle forwarder, route and cost. One to prepare and check the booking documents. One to walk the booking and the handover of the cargo.
Is the forwarder chosen already?
If you have one, we work with them. If you do not, take the Forwarder Shortlist first and bring the winner here.
Why seven to ten days?
Because it follows your cargo ready date and the forwarder reply times, working from the dates you give in the checkout questionnaire.
